What Is Meditation
Meditation is focusing mind to right subject (Focus) which is not help to collect sins or lust to feelings
It can be - breathing; one colored circular late or flowers; Sentences about Dharma; feeling like kind;
Some solemn monk use death body, body parts and it's uncanny states as Focus
Dayana  or Jhana or Holding can be achieved cause of  concentrating  mind for a long time towards focus
There have four Jhana related to material And four related to only non-material mind
To get Jhana we need to achieved five holdings roots, which are given in below section
Before do meditation we need knowledge about Dharma or good mentor
Also you need good devotion to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha
You need silence place (under the tree, temple, silence room, etc) and calm mind to do meditation
Good five precepts & courage are important factors for concentrating mind long time
Meditation methods can be chosen according to your likeness & skills or according to your character

Five Holdings Roots Of Jhana
Keep mind with Focus - Means mind should only think about Focus
Sustain that keeping with Focus - Trying to separate other feelings except Focus
Happy - Noble happy get after remove your negative thoughts
Comfortable - Body become weightless and cool, so it help to further concentrating
Concentrating - Finally mind only absorb Focus, Mind will not swaying

Four Miracle Roots (Satara ErrdiPadha)
There have four things to practice to attain miracle powers from 4th Jhana in meditation
Like : firstly we need likeness to meditation and relevant mind power (e.g.. Telepathy, walking in sky or water, etc)
Persistence : secondly we want middle level persistence to set a goal & achieve it
Focusing Mind : then we want to focus mind to only that goal or auto-suggestion about goal in every time
Investigation : also we want to investigate or learn about how it achieve or find it from good teacher

Material Jhana (Rupa Dayana) & Non-Material Jhana (Arupa Dayana)
All five holdings roots (listed above section) accomplish with first Dayana
By neglecting first & second roots, second Dayana achieve
From Neglecting Happy third Dayana achieve - means have only Comfortable
Fourth Dayana have only Concentrating mind to Focus, by neglecting Comfortable
Fouths Dayana mind have mind light whit all meditations, now we concentrate mind to this light, but not focus
This fourth Dayana help to learn and improve super natural actions like walking in space 
Example : If someone got fourth Dayana as Focus as gold color, he can create gold things on meditation
After this four Rupa Dayana we can get Arupa Dayana by thinkg infiniteness of  below things :
Infinite Space (akasanañcayatanupaga) - By thinking infinitive-ness space or space round mind light
Infinite Consciousness (viññanañcayatanupaga ) - By neglecting mind light then focusing into own mind
Nothingness (akiñcaññayatanupaga ) - By neglecting even mind
Neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññanasaññayatanupaga deva) - By neglecting all identifications
Bharkma Living meditation can be done in two types : Focus to infinitive number of creatures or
Focusing to ownself then own respected people then develop it to group of creatures - such as village or country
Dayana help to rebirth in Great Heavens - Or Brahma Loka
